Stellar \STEL-er\ adjective - relating to, proceeding from, consisting of, or resembling the stars.
Moissanite is a naturally occurring mineral composed of silicon carbide (SiC), first discovered in 1893 by French Chemist Henri Moissan at the site of a meteorite. The crystals were first mistaken for diamonds, but it was later determined to be an entirely different material altogether. This spectacular new gem was named “Moissanite” in his honor.
Due to its rarity in nature, scientists developed an innovative thermal growing process to create these silicon carbide crystals. The result is a gemstone that rivals any natural mineral for fire, brilliance, and quality.
We have curated our very own signature range of moissanites, Stellar Moissanite. Carefully and precisely faceted, each Stellar Moissanite is cut according to exact angles and proportions specific to HAMZAH ANIS.
APPEARANCE AND GRADING
What makes our Stellar Moissanite so unique to the other brands on the market? Our moissanites are cut precisely to our exact specifications to create the most diamond-like alternative, not just in quality but also in appearance.
Specific depth percentages, cutting techniques, and proportions are critical to maximizing light reflection and sparkle and sets our Moissanite apart from the rest!
Due to their high refractive index of 2.65 (a measure of the speed at which light travels through the stone), moissanite will emit more colorful flashes of light than an excellent cut diamond. This colorful sparkle is what makes a moissanite truly unique.
Moissanites are guaranteed never to lose their optical properties or diminish their quality over time. All Stellar Moissanites used in our signature engagement designs have a clarity rating of VVS or better and color grading of D/E.
HAMZAH ANIS guarantees that your stone will be eye-clean with no visible inclusions and equivalent to GIA’s standard of a colorless diamond.
It has become common to explore more affordable alternatives to the traditional diamond engagement piece. Moissanites are becoming increasingly popular due to their considerably lower price-point and flexibility, meaning you won’t need to sacrifice your budget.
Affordability does not equate to poor quality. Moissanites measure 9.25 on the Mohs scale (1-10) of hardness, ranking second to a diamond. The Mohs scale is a qualitative measure of a mineral’s resistance to surface scratching, making moissanite a suitable option for an engagement or bridal piece.
Moissanites require absolutely no mining to produce and are an excellent option for those seeking an eco-conscious gemstone. As Stellar Moissanites are grown in controlled environments using advanced technology, their origins are entirely traceable and sustainable.
